Nubo, Fira & Orumi – Our Kind of Winter

I made the runners smooth and straight
And parked our sled beside the gate.
I’ve fixed the bells and checked each screw—
There’s room for me, and both of you.
A little push, we’re on our way,
With winter plans to fill the day.
I’ve packed the scarves. The sky is clear.
Come on, adventure’s waiting here!

Snow in the air, bells on the sleigh,
Three different ways to brighten the day.
A little bit of wonder, a whole lot of cheer—
Our kind of winter is finally here!

I tie red ribbons round the trees,
Loose enough to dance in the breeze.
The cocoa’s ready, warm and sweet—
Three mugs are waiting. Take a seat.
Some seeds outside for birds to share,
A wreath of pine, a little care.
Now shake the snow off, gather round—
I’ve got the warmest hugs in town!

I thought of baubles, round and red,
Then pictured whales of snow instead.
They swim above the tallest pine—
A little winter twist of mine.
I made a snowman, small and neat,
Then gave him giant dancing feet.
He took a bow and stole my hat—
Well, I was not expecting that!
