Nubo, Fira & Orumi – A Little Boat, a Big Hello
Four corks, a little plank and some thread become a tiny boat ready to cross a puddle. The friends want to send a snail an invitation to their picnic, but first the boat needs a sail and a little lunch on board. An English song about working things out together and making room for one more guest.

Special delivery!
I found four corks inside my pack,
A little plank, a spool of thread.
I built a boat beside a puddle.
"Let's send a little note," I said.
I checked the boat from front to back,
Then set it by a stepping stone.
It needs a sail to catch the breeze—
It can't go sailing on its own.
Over the puddle, look at it go!
One little boat with a big hello.
A plan, a leaf, an idea or two—
There's room in the story for me and you.
I found a fallen leaf nearby
And brushed a drop of rain away.
I wrote, "Dear snail, come join our picnic.
We've saved a little place today."
I tucked the note inside the boat,
A tiny cucumber slice as well.
Our neighbour watched us from a stone,
His little house a curly shell.
Over the puddle, look at it go!
One little boat with a big hello.
A plan, a leaf, an idea or two—
There's room in the story for me and you.
I pictured stripes of red and blue,
A little sail to catch the air.
It popped up gently in my hand—
One thought, and it was really there!
I fixed it to the tiny mast.
A little wind came through the leaves.
The boat set off with lunch on board,
Its striped sail dancing in the breeze.
Over the puddle, look at it go!
One little boat with a big hello.
A plan, a leaf, an idea or two—
There's room in the story for me and you.
The boat had nearly reached the stone.
I turned around to check the view.
Our snail was sitting on the blanket.
He took the path.
Well, wouldn't you?
Over the puddle, look at it go!
One little boat with a big hello.
A plan, a leaf, an idea or two—
There's room in the story for me and you.
The guest is here.
His lunch is still sailing!
